ITINERARY

Upon arrival to Cusco you will be greeted at the airport according to your flight schedule. After meeting with our highly knowledgeable local expert, we will continue driving into the Sacred Valley, with a few stops on the way to explore the ancient landmarks of Maras, Moray, and the Ollantaytambo history and gastronomy. In the afternoon we will get the train from Ollantaytambo Train station to Machu Picchu town. This is an almost 2 hour train ride with incredible scenery that connects the Andes to the cloud forest. Once you arrive to Machu Picchu town you will check in at your hotel for the night.

We will explore the best of Machu Picchu; according to your entrance  ticket schedule. You will start from your hotel with the tour guide, get on the shuttle bus for 30 minutes, then explore every corner of Machu Picchu. After learning about the history and having some time to take photos we will return to Machu Picchu town. You will be on your own for lunch, but we are happy to make recommendations. You will also have some time to enjoy the town. You can then take the train back to Ollantaytambo station, followed by a bus to Cusco Hotel for an overnight stay. You will have control over your journey and the freedom to explore at your own pace.

Handling the altitude

Altitude sickness, known as soroche in Peru, could be a problem for

visitors traveling to the Andes region above 2,500 meters (8,000

feet). The best way to prevent it (headache, dizziness, fatigue) is to

eat lightly and drink plenty of fluids. It is recommended to ascend

gradually to become acclimated and rest on the first day of your

arrival. Oxygen is available upon request.

Peru is not a particularly risky destination, however like in any other

country or city, it is essential to keep a close eye on your personal

belongings at all times.
